New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) Renowned educator and YouTuber Khan Sir has expressed his strong disapproval regarding the uproar caused by the Congress party's Kerala unit's post on social media, which drew an offensive comparison between Bihar and 'bidi'. This statement has led to extensive backlash from political figures and users on various platforms nationwide.
Khan Sir criticized the individuals behind the comment, asserting their lack of basic education. He stated, “Inform those who engage in such comparisons that they are uninformed. We are here to educate them; for just 99 rupees, or even free of charge, we can teach them. We don't engage in politics; we educate about it.” He conveyed his thoughts in an interview with IANS.
The political controversy escalated on Friday after the Congress party's Kerala unit shared a contentious message on X, equating Bihar with 'bidis'. Following the backlash, the Congress party promptly removed the post from its official account.
In addition to commenting on the controversy, Khan Sir also voiced his concerns regarding Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms related to education and healthcare, a topic he has been advocating for over several months.
“For the past year, we have been requesting significant changes to GST, specifically a reduction in rates for education and healthcare,” he mentioned.
He expressed gratitude to the central government for lowering GST on certain essential goods but called for a complete exemption on tuition and coaching services.
“I appreciate PM Modi for addressing this serious issue and increasing GST on luxury items. However, we hope that during his address on January 26, he will announce a reduction of GST to 18% or perhaps even a full waiver on education. If the government does not impose GST on schools and institutions, then why should it be charged on struggling students seeking tuition? They should be exempt as well,” added Khan Sir.
Concluding with optimism, he remarked, “We believe PM Modi will listen to these concerns; it just takes time to reach the Prime Minister.”
