Bengaluru, May 19 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has expressed strong disapproval towards the Congress-led government regarding its forthcoming 'Sadhana Samavesha' celebrations, which are meant to commemorate two years of governance. The BJP claims that the government has achieved nothing significant and is merely focused on advertisements.

The festivities are scheduled to take place in Hospet on May 20. BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra questioned, "What is the purpose of this 'Sadhana Samavesha', Mr Chief Minister?"

During a media briefing at his residence, Vijayendra lamented, "Prices are consistently increasing. Corruption has become commonplace in the state. We are witnessing the murder of Hindu activists one after the other."

He accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers by failing to introduce any new initiatives and criticized the absence of development programs aimed at women. "They haven't created jobs for the youth or ensured a dignified life for them," he emphasized.

Vijayendra remarked, "Greater Bengaluru has turned into 'Water Bengaluru'. A minor rainfall leads to flooding in the city. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar speaks of grand projects, yet metro construction in Bengaluru is neither advancing swiftly nor being completed on schedule. They even discuss extending the metro to Tumakuru."

He stated, "Development has come to a complete standstill. What have they accomplished in two years? Even MLAs from the ruling party openly admit they are not receiving funds for development. As first-time elected MLAs, we cannot even build a single classroom in our constituencies."

Vijayendra further alleged that MLAs lack essential infrastructure for healthcare and irrigation. "Despite all this, the state government continues to indulge in extravagant expenditures. The people mock this government; they criticize its operations," he stated.

He called the government a wasteful and dramatic administration focused on advertisements. "They have deceived the citizens of the state without fulfilling the promised guarantees properly. This 'Sadhana Samavesha' represents zero achievements," he asserted.

Vijayendra highlighted, "The public holds a negative view of this government. They should seek funds to fulfill guarantees, but instead, just announce them as if that is an accomplishment. Shouldn't there be developmental work alongside these guarantees?"

He added, "MLAs today cannot walk with their heads held high."

Vijayendra noted, "They haven't even managed to fill potholes in Bengaluru. Have they provided housing for the urban poor lacking shelter? During the BJP administration under the Ganga Kalyana scheme, every constituency received 20 to 25 connections. Now they are offering just one or two, like charity."

He characterized the event as absurd, stating, "Former CM B.S. Yediyurappa used to allocate additional funds to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman scheme, but that has been discontinued. The 'Raitha Vidyanidhi' scheme has also been halted. They are discontinuing the BJP government's initiatives. This government lacks a vision for development. In this context, organizing a 'Sadhana Samavesha' is laughable."

Vijayendra accused the Congress government of attempting to mislead the public with advertisements. "They try to silence the Opposition's critiques. However, even members of the ruling party are now voicing concerns about the lack of development," he explained.

In response to a query, he mentioned, "We are continuously protesting to express our dissent against this government. We recently conducted a 'Janakrosha Yatra.'"

Vijayendra concluded, "The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister must be held accountable for the complete lack of development in the state, especially in Bengaluru."

Point of View

It is evident that the Karnataka BJP's critique of the Congress government raises valid concerns regarding governance and public welfare. The emphasis on perceived failures and the call for accountability reflect a larger national discourse on the effectiveness of state governments in meeting their citizens' needs.
