Kalaburagi, July 19 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra stated on Saturday that every time Chief Minister Siddaramaiah feels his position is threatened, he resorts to calling numerous party conventions to maintain his political standing.

While addressing the media, Vijayendra responded to a question regarding the Congress' "Sadhana Samavesha" conducted in Mysuru.

"Siddaramaiah is synonymous with conventions, and conventions are synonymous with Siddaramaiah. To uphold his political relevance, he consistently highlights the AHINDA communities (minorities, backward classes, and Dalits). He utilizes these communities to orchestrate events that serve his political agenda and pressure the Congress high command. Throughout his two-and-a-half-year term as Chief Minister, he has accomplished nothing significant," he asserted.

The State BJP President remarked that had Siddaramaiah performed well, the Karnataka Congress In-Charge Randeep Surjewala wouldn't need to frequently visit Bengaluru to calm discontented party MLAs.

"Surjewala's repeated trips to Karnataka indicate the unrest among MLAs, contemplating potential leadership changes, and pursuing alternatives to replace Siddaramaiah. This illustrates the precariousness of Siddaramaiah’s position as Chief Minister, and his convention organization is an attempt to exert pressure on the high command," he claimed.

Vijayendra also pointed out an intense competition for the Chief Ministerial post within the Congress, alleging that horse trading has commenced.

"This government has failed to achieve anything noteworthy or facilitate development," he charged, adding that the support from MLAs is being bartered at fixed prices.

He further commented, "Mr. Siddaramaiah has challenged the Congress high command by declaring in Delhi that he will serve the full five years as Chief Minister."

He mentioned that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had not even met Siddaramaiah during his recent visit to Delhi, highlighting that there is discord within the Congress.

"Congress MLAs are secretly preparing for conflict. Some are supporting Siddaramaiah, while others lean towards D.K. Shivakumar," he remarked in response to another question.

Vijayendra added, "Siddaramaiah gets visibly agitated when anyone mentions Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's name."

"I have previously stated that Kharge, a Dalit leader, should be given an opportunity for the sake of justice for the Dalit community. There is a state-wide discussion about the injustice done to Home Minister G. Parameshwara."

"In the BJP, we appointed Droupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, as the President of India. Previously, we also elevated Ram Nath Kovind to the presidency. While Congress leaders deliver grand speeches about minorities, it was the BJP that appointed APJ Abdul Kalam as the President," the State BJP President emphasized.

He also criticized Siddaramaiah, stating, "In the last two-and-a-half years, this so-called AHINDA leader has done nothing but injustice to those communities he claims to represent. He has failed to ensure justice or development. In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hails from a backward class, has worked towards justice for all communities nationwide."
