Bengaluru, April 29 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP asserted on Tuesday that defacing the photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a criminal act. Additionally, the BJP accused Congress leaders of indirectly endorsing Pakistan.
During a press conference in Bengaluru, the Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, criticized the Congress for defacing the PM's photo, labeling it an insult to the dignity of the Prime Minister.
Ashoka also noted that Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh had previously stated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister R.B. Timmapur's comments do not reflect the party's official position.
"What respect can they expect when their own party fails to honor them?" he questioned.
Recently, CM Siddaramaiah remarked that a conflict with Pakistan was unnecessary, while Minister R.B. Timmapur expressed skepticism about terrorists in Pahalgam considering the religion of their victims.
These remarks sparked considerable controversy and public outrage.
Ashoka accused Congress leaders of indirectly siding with Pakistan.
He highlighted that Asaduddin Owaisi has openly challenged Pakistan, and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has shown patriotism, urging Congress leaders to learn from such examples. He pointed out that even the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has acknowledged mistakes, yet Congress leaders continue to question Prime Minister Modi.
Ashoka further claimed that CM Siddaramaiah, who won by a narrow margin, has become a celebrity in Pakistan.
"If he contests in Lahore, he could win by a margin of over a lakh votes. He might even receive a civilian honor from Pakistan in the future," he asserted.
He continued, "These so-called peace advocates have insulted a police officer, which is an affront to the entire police force."
"The Chief Minister has sent a message that anyone can attack the police. In another incident, he questioned a District Commissioner about his presence. Such arrogance won’t last long. Knowing he will soon vacate his position, he is taking out his frustration on everyone," he said.
Ashoka claimed that Karnataka has now transformed into a state governed by lawlessness.
