Do Congress Leaders Deserve to be Hanged for Their Betrayal of Telangana?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Jan 4 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated on Sunday that the Congress leaders should face execution for their betrayal towards Telangana regarding the river water sharing dispute, emphasizing that the current administration led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has faltered in its governance.
He further remarked: "If there were to be executions, I can't say how many times Congress leaders would be hanged."
His comments followed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's statement suggesting that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and former State Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao should be hanged for their injustices in the river water sharing matter.
KTR criticized Revanth Reddy for using derogatory language towards him and Harish Rao during a State Assembly session on Saturday night.
"Revanth can hurl insults in one language; if I wish, I can respond in three languages, but I choose not to. His abusive remarks stem from his fears of inadequacy and insecurity, which is why he resorted to insults in the Assembly," KTR expressed.
He questioned: "Is this not unparliamentary? The Assembly Speaker remained silent and did not intervene," he added.
In response to Revanth Reddy's comments about KCR and Harish Rao deserving to be hanged, KTR claimed that if any leader deserves it, it is Rahul Gandhi.
"He should be hanged at Ashok Nagar for failing to fulfill his promise of providing two lakh jobs. He should be hanged in Warangal for reneging on his commitment to waive farmers' loans. For breaching the promise of 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes, both Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy should be hanged in Kamareddy," he stated.
KTR accused the Congress-led government of being a total failure across all sectors.
He remarked that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy leads an "utterly corrupt" administration.
"This Chief Minister lacks understanding of what a basin is, much less the concept of a river basin. Revanth is unaware of the distinction between IIT and IIIT. He doesn’t even know the difference between Bachawat and Brijesh Kumar Tribunal. All he understands is corruption and hoarding," KTR asserted.
The former Minister charged the Congress with decades of injustice to Telangana concerning water resources.
He stated that the Congress must fully own the betrayal inflicted upon Telangana.
KTR added that the injustices faced by Telangana occurred during the 65 years of Congress rule and the 17 years under Revanth Reddy's "old boss" N. Chandrababu Naidu.
"While Revanth Reddy, as Chief Minister, carries the bags of those advocating for a united Andhra Pradesh and polishing their boots, we have fought for Telangana for years," KTR claimed.
