Kuljeet Chahal Declares 'Thugbandhan' Unviable in Delhi Amid Cong-AAP Alliance Rumors

New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) As rumors circulate regarding a possible alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, BJP leader and Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Kuljeet Singh Chahal, unequivocally rejected the notion on Saturday, asserting that the 'mahagathbandhan or thugbandhan' is unlikely to succeed, as the BJP is poised to win the upcoming elections.
In a conversation with IANS, Chahal remarked, "The BJP is unaffected by whether Congress and AAP form a 'Gathbandhan' or a 'Thagbandhan'. Their collaborations in Maharashtra and Haryana fell short of success. Conversely, the BJP has made significant strides in various development areas. The public has consistently demonstrated their trust in our governance over the years," Chahal noted.
Chahal further undermined the potential impact of any alliance on the political scene, emphasizing that the BJP’s robust history of development and the public’s confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi will guarantee their triumph.
"When AAP was established, they criticized Congress, labeling leaders like Sheila Dikshit and Sonia Gandhi as corrupt. Now, as their political influence wanes, they are joining forces with those very individuals," he stated.
He reiterated that regardless of any alliances, the future of Delhi firmly belongs to the BJP.
Chahal’s comments regarding the alleged alliance emerged as both parties consider uniting against the BJP ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.
Significantly, the Congress declared on Friday its intention to contest the February 2025 Delhi Assembly elections independently. Devender Yadav, the Delhi Congress president, affirmed that the party would compete for all 70 seats alone, dismissing any coalition with AAP.
Chahal also issued a stern warning concerning alleged corruption, stating that those implicated in scams, even if currently out on bail, will ultimately face accountability.
"Those who are currently on bail will eventually find themselves behind bars," he asserted.
"The BJP is steadfast, and under PM Modi’s guidance, the lotus will flourish in Delhi," he concluded.
As the elections draw closer, all major parties are gearing up for a challenging contest, with the BJP expressing confidence in its prospects irrespective of the opposition's strategies.
