Bengaluru, April 5 (NationPress) Reaffirming his position, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of being directly implicated in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.
“The Chief Minister’s close relative had applied for the de-notification of 15 sites,” he stated, adding, “The signature on that application was forged.”
In a critique of the CM’s self-portrayal, Kumaraswamy commented: “This accused, who claims to be honest and likens himself to a modern-day Satya Harishchandra, while chanting ‘Satyameva Jayate’, is specifically mentioned in the Lokayukta report. Those interested can peruse this grand document to uncover the truth.”
He elaborated: “At that time, Siddaramaiah served as the Deputy Chief Minister, and B.N. Bache Gowda held the position of Urban Development Minister. Siddaramaiah’s relative submitted a request to Bache Gowda for the de-notification of 15 sites, and it is alleged that this relative forged his signature, as per the report.”
“Moreover,” Kumaraswamy continued, citing the Lokayukta report, “the application features the term ‘DCM’ written in English. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report related to this is included in the Lokayukta document.”
“The true nature of this Chief Minister, who deceives the public by presenting himself as an honest individual, is thoroughly documented in the Lokayukta report. I am also aware of the tactics he is employing to escape accountability in this scandal,” the Union Minister remarked, intensifying his accusations.
The MUDA scandal involves the unlawful allocation of 14 sites to CM Siddaramaiah's family by the MUDA.
The Karnataka Lokayukta has submitted a closure report while the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting an investigation into the issue.
Discussing his strategy to fortify the party's presence in Bengaluru, he noted: “Although we might not have a stronghold in all 198 wards of Bengaluru, we will mobilize and lead the party with the support of our existing workers. We intend to initiate a public movement addressing the ongoing calamities in the city and enhance public awareness.”
“While organizing the party is crucial, we must inform the citizens about how the Congress government is exploiting the capital. Residents from across the nation reside in this city, which is why we will produce pamphlets in Kannada, English, and other languages to promote awareness. We will engage in a relentless struggle against this government,” he asserted.
On coordinating with the BJP, the Union Minister stated: “Our partnership with the BJP is robust. There are no issues with coordination. JD (S) MLA Suresh Babu voiced his thoughts on establishing a coordination committee. Nikhil Kumaraswamy (his son) has also engaged in discussions. I am in talks with all BJP leaders. There is no deficit of trust. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the nation is making significant progress.”
