Kumaraswamy Calls on Karnataka's Unemployed Youth to Protest for Their Rights
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, April 14 (NationPress) Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy highlighted the prevalent unemployment crisis in Karnataka, criticizing the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) for its lack of transparency and ongoing irregularities. He urged the youth of Karnataka to rise up and advocate for their rights by protesting on the streets.
In a press conference held at the party office on Tuesday, Kumaraswamy encouraged the youth to voice their dissent against the government, assuring them that any legal repercussions would be addressed. He emphasized that the protests should extend beyond Dharwad and resonate throughout the entire state.
“My call to action is not politically motivated; it stems from genuine concern for the talented unemployed youth suffering due to this situation,” he expressed.
On the topic of KPSC, he revealed that he has been actively monitoring its developments, remarking that despite the Chief Minister's claims of reform, KPSC continues to deteriorate. He accused the government of allowing those responsible for KPSC's issues to evade consequences while plotting against others.
“Students statewide must stand up against this ineffective administration; otherwise, justice will remain elusive. The government had pledged to fill between 60,000 and 70,000 positions, yet there has been no action,” he stated.
Kumaraswamy also reminisced about the 2011 cancellation of a KPSC recruitment process by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, questioning the extent of the ongoing harassment faced by candidates.
“The youth must prepare themselves to oust this ineffective government,” he declared.
He affirmed his commitment to speaking out for the people, stating, “I plan to spend at least two days a week in Karnataka to bolster the party structure and advocate for the citizens.”
Kumaraswamy asserted that the state will not thrive under the current administration, claiming that true development occurred only during his party's governance. He called on citizens to ensure the Congress party is defeated in future elections to meet public expectations.
Notable attendees at the event included former minister Venkatarav Nadagouda, Greater Bengaluru JD(S) President H.M. Ramesh Gowda, and former MLA K. Annadani.
