Patna, July 20 (NationPress) Upendra Kushwaha, the national president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha, suggested on Sunday that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should consider transferring his duties to his son Nishant.
Kushwaha, a long-time associate of Nitish, conveyed this recommendation through a post on X while celebrating Nishant's birthday.
In response to this advice, JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan affirmed that Bihar’s esteemed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is a source of pride for millions of party supporters.
Regarding Kushwaha’s remarks, Ranjan noted, “We have acknowledged Upendra Kushwaha’s tweet. He offered a suggestion, but the party is entirely capable of making its own decisions on internal issues.”
“Under his insightful leadership, Nitish Kumar has outlined a roadmap for Bihar's comprehensive progress while adhering to our core principles. He has transformed the party into an ideological force, and significant advancements in Bihar have occurred under his guidance,” he stated.
Ranjan underscored that Nitish Kumar holds equal significance for both the party and the government, with millions of party members wishing for his continued leadership in both domains.
“The vision of transforming Bihar into a developed state by 2025 to 2030 should be pursued under Nitish Kumar’s stewardship. His bond with party workers resembles that of a guardian, and he has made an indelible impact as the party's leader,” he added.
JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar also chimed in, stating, “The sentiment ‘Mother instilled values in me, and I take pride in my father’—this simple expression from Nishant Kumar resonates deeply. While some openly acknowledge their parents' shortcomings, others maintain their dignity. The authority to decide this matter lies exclusively with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his son Nishant Kumar. The remaining party members stand united with them in full trust.”
Nishant Kumar, on his birthday, performed the Rudrabhishek at the Mahavir temple in Patna during the auspicious month of Sawan.
On this occasion, he urged the citizens of Bihar to re-elect his father as Chief Minister in the upcoming 2025 elections.
