Patna, Oct 25 (NationPress) With elections in Bihar approaching in November, political tensions have escalated. On Saturday, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav criticized the NDA government, labeling its assertion regarding additional trains to accommodate passenger demand as a “blatant lie.”
This year, the festival has taken on a political dimension, with various parties leveraging the occasion to emotionally engage with the people of Bihar.
Lalu accused the BJP and the NDA government of deceiving the public regarding the operation of special trains for the festival.
In a post on social media, Lalu stated, “The uncrowned king of deceit and the master of hollow promises claimed that out of 13,198 trains nationwide, 12,000 would be designated for Bihar during Chhath. This turned out to be a blatant lie. They cannot even operate trains properly for Biharis who have suffered from migration for two decades under the NDA administration.”
The RJD chief also criticized the NDA for “neglecting” Bihar’s growth, saying, “My fellow Biharis are compelled to endure inhumane conditions while traveling in trains. How disgraceful is this? Because of the misguided policies of the double-engine government, over 4 crore individuals from Bihar migrate annually for employment. Since the UPA government, the NDA has failed to establish any significant industries in Bihar. These leaders are anti-Bihar.”
In the meantime, the Indian Railways previously announced the deployment of over 12,000 special trains for Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, aimed at easing travel for migrant workers returning home.
However, the Opposition contends that this assertion is misleading and that passengers continue to experience significant challenges in reaching their hometowns.
As the nomination process has concluded, the first phase of voting in Bihar is set for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11.
Vote counting will occur on November 14.
Political figures from all major parties are actively campaigning across the state, conducting rallies and refining their campaign messages.
