Patna, Feb 24 (NationPress) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has expressed his disapproval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bihar, alleging that it is driven by political motives in light of the forthcoming Assembly elections.

In a statement shared on social media, Yadav remarked, "The Prime Minister's presence in Bihar signifies an impending wave of falsehoods and declarations. Given that it's an election year, the central government's schemes will be ceremoniously launched from Bihar, but the state will not reap any benefits."

During his time in Bhagalpur, Prime Minister Modi launched the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) initiative, which provides financial assistance to farmers throughout the country, including nearly 77 lakh farmers from Bihar.

The occasion was marked by significant participation, featuring Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and around 500,000 farmers.

In response to Yadav's criticisms, Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar defended the Prime Minister’s visit, highlighting the developmental strides made by the "double engine" government in Bihar.

Kumar dismissed Yadav's remarks as unfounded, asserting that the people of Bihar recognize the advancements accomplished under the current administration, which reflects a collaborative effort between state and central authorities.

He stated that such progress is troubling for the opposition, prompting them to issue "fact-less statements." Kumar also noted that Lalu Prasad Yadav, due to his legal troubles, is prohibited from contesting elections and has been sidelined politically, suggesting that his criticisms may lack credibility.

“Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has been politically restrained by his son Tejashwi Yadav and was denied the opportunity to participate in the Karyakarta Darshan Sah Samvad Yatra, is responding to the Prime Minister’s visit,” Kumar remarked.
