New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) A fierce political exchange has ignited in Bihar following RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's commendation of his son, Tejashwi Yadav, who holds the position of Leader of the Opposition in the state. Lalu Prasad Yadav asserted that Tejashwi has singlehandedly caused the NDA to "sweat" in Bihar. In reaction, BJP's Syed Shahnawaz Hussain remarked that Lalu Prasad Yadav is merely expressing himself "out of love".
Responding to Lalu’s proclamation, Shahnawaz Hussain dismissed the assertion, attributing it to a father’s affection rather than political truth.
“This is simply Lalu ji’s paternal love for his son speaking,” Hussain conveyed to IANS. “What kind of fierce competitor are they referring to? The RJD could secure only 4 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats. They are destined for a similar defeat in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. A father will say anything out of love, even if it's unfounded.”
Lalu Prasad Yadav, in a post on social media platform X, extolled Tejashwi’s attributes, stating, “With their humility, gentleness, decency, sweetness, logic, eloquence, resilience, creativity, skill, sharpness, and focus, Tejashwi alone has made them (NDA) sweat in Bihar.”
He also shared a cartoon portraying Tejashwi, depicted alone on a weighing scale, outweighing the entire NDA coalition, symbolically critiquing the ruling alliance's performance in the state.
In support of Lalu Yadav’s comments, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari defended Tejashwi’s leadership, asserting, “Tejashwi Yadav ji has amplified the voice of the people, from the streets to the Assembly. He has championed the welfare of Bihar, and the entire nation is acknowledging that. Fourteen crore people of Bihar envision their future with Tejashwi Yadav. He is a beacon of hope, and that is what Lalu ji has recognized and articulated.”
Meanwhile, on Thursday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav threatened to boycott the Bihar assembly elections if the opposition's concerns regarding special intensive revision are not addressed.
He claimed that the names of several lakh voters might be removed in Bihar, and if this transpires, participating in the elections would be futile. Tejashwi Yadav expressed his intention to discuss this issue with other opposition leaders.
