Patna, Jan 25 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav stated on Saturday that since 2025 is an election year, political leaders will visit Bihar, make promises, and then depart, ultimately leaving the populace disappointed without fulfilling their commitments.
"This is an election year in Bihar, which means leaders from Delhi will frequently arrive. However, they are disconnected from the people of this state. They will come, make promises, and leave. They are incapable of delivering anything for Bihar," Yadav remarked.
Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Bhagalpur in Bihar on February 24, yet the state's LoP has criticized Modi, labeling his visit as 'a politically motivated action.'
Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bhagalpur is anticipated to include the release of an installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, an announcement made during an agricultural review meeting chaired by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday.
Yadav also raised questions regarding the Central government's dedication to Bihar, emphasizing the longstanding demand for special status for the state.
"I wish to question them (the Central government) on why they have not granted special status to Bihar. They will make grand promises, only to forget them after the election. They do not focus on work but rather on maintaining power by deceiving people with false promises and assurances," he stated.
Yadav sharply criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of negligence and a lack of leadership in governance and protocol management within the state.
Pointing to an incident involving the country’s Vice President, Yadav remarked that Nitish Kumar seems to have lost his "awareness," even neglecting the protocol required to greet the Vice President.
“The Vice President arrived in Patna yesterday, and Kumar failed to go to the airport to welcome him,” he mentioned.
Further criticizing the Nitish Kumar administration, he noted the government's inability to maintain law and order in the state. In response to the surrender of former MLA Anant Singh, Yadav dismissed this move as superficial.
"Such actions are merely a façade. These individuals will soon be released from jail. Nitish Kumar is incapable of managing the law and order situation in Bihar," he concluded.
