Jammu, Oct 18 (NationPress) BJP officials announced on Saturday that they will uphold the legacy of the late Devender Singh Rana in J&K's Nagrota assembly constituency through his daughter, Devyani Rana.

Devender Singh Rana secured victory in the 2024 assembly elections for the BJP from Nagrota. He passed away on October 31, 2024, leading to the vacancy of the seat.

BJP has nominated Devyani Rana to contest in the upcoming by-election for the Nagrota seat, with voting scheduled for November 11.

The party organized a well-attended rally of enthusiastic workers and supporters in Nagrota following the nomination of Devyani Rana as the BJP candidate for the assembly by-elections.

Senior leaders and legislators, including J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, Assembly Election Incharge & MLA Sham Lal Sharma, and Co-Incharge & DDC Chairperson Bharat Bhushan, spoke at the rally.

Prabhari District Jammu North Ayodhya Gupta, MLAs Satish Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Pawan Gupta, Ch Vikram Randhawa, Kuldeep Dubey, Mohan Lal Bhagat, Surinder Bhagat, Arvind Gupta, Baldev Raj Sharma, and other senior leaders also shared the stage at this event.

During his address, Sat Sharma emphasized that the BJP is dedicated to the comprehensive development and progress of the Nagrota constituency, as well as the socio-economic advancement of every individual in Jammu and Kashmir.

He noted that the BJP, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has revamped the governance framework of J&K, introducing transparency, empowerment, and rapid development.

According to him, Nagrota is pivotal in their vision for progress, and the BJP will make sure that all developmental projects are successfully completed. Sat Sharma also paid heartfelt tributes to the late Devender Singh Rana, calling him a true son of the soil who genuinely cared for the people and won the hearts of Nagrota's community.

He added that while he may no longer be with us, his aspirations and commitment live on through his daughter, Devyani Rana, who has embraced his spirit of service.

Sunil Sharma praised Devyani Rana for her determination to carry on her father’s mission, stating that the people of Nagrota have experienced the significance of commitment and compassion during Devender Rana's leadership.

“Devyani Rana embodies the same sincerity and vision, and the BJP stands resolutely behind her,” Sunil Sharma commented.

Another BJP leader, Sham Lal Sharma, assured the public that the BJP government is diligently working for every segment of society. He remarked that development, empowerment, and dignity for all are our guiding principles. Devyani Rana's leadership will ensure that the constituency gets the attention and development it rightfully deserves, he asserted.

Bharat Bhushan stated that historic reforms have taken place in J&K under the Modi government, and the BJP is committed to fostering a prosperous and inclusive future.

He called on the people to strengthen the BJP for a more robust Nagrota and a stronger Jammu and Kashmir.

In her speech, Devyani Rana emotionally expressed gratitude to the party leadership and the public for their overwhelming support, vowing to continue the legacy of her late father, Devender Singh Rana.

She affirmed, “My father, Devender Singh Rana, envisioned a thriving, progressive, and inclusive Nagrota.

“I pledge to complete all his unfinished projects and serve the community tirelessly. I will spare no effort to honor the trust you have placed in me.”

The National Conference (NC) has proposed offering the Nagrota seat to Congress to field a supported candidate.
