LJP (Ram Vilas) Leader Accuses Opposition of Exploiting BPSC Candidates' Peaceful Protest

Patna, December 7 (NationPress) - In the wake of the lathi charge on BPSC aspirants by Patna Police, which ignited significant political backlash, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Member of Parliament from Jamui, Arun Bharti, accused opposition parties of exploiting the peaceful protests for their political interests.

The LJP (Ram Vilas) leader asserted that anti-social elements, allegedly incited by the opposition, disrupted the demonstrations, leading to unwarranted chaos.

“I condemn these actions. The issues concerning the futures of students should not be leveraged for political gain. Some anti-social elements infiltrated the peaceful protest and turned it into a provocative situation. The leader of a party that has become irrelevant in the current context is questioning this. I would like to ask him how many entrance examinations he has participated in,” he remarked.

Reflecting on his own experiences as a student, Bharti advocated for dialogue rather than protests to address concerns about changes in examination protocols.

Previously, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, expressed support for the students, underscoring their demand to abolish the contentious ‘normalisation’ policy.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Rabri Devi also sided with the students, criticizing the Nitish Kumar administration for employing forceful measures against the protesters.

“The right to a peaceful protest is a fundamental democratic right of the students, and the government should address their grievances through open communication, not repression. They are the students of Bihar, and if they do not voice their concerns against the government, who will?” Rabri Devi stated.

Amidst these political developments, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced that the normalisation policy will not be applied in the upcoming 70th Combined Preliminary Examination, indicating a step towards resolving student issues.

This incident has intensified into a significant political debate, with various parties aligning themselves according to their broader political ambitions. The government is facing scrutiny for its approach to the protests, while opposition figures are leveraging this opportunity to confront the ruling coalition.

Ultimately, the crux of the matter remains the students’ call for fairness and transparency in the examination processes, highlighting the necessity for constructive dialogue and resolution.
