LPG Tanker Explosion in Jaipur Engulfs Vehicles Within 300 Metres; 10 Drivers in Critical Condition

Jaipur, Dec 20 (NationPress) An LPG gas tanker ignited near Pushparaj Petrol Pump in Bhankrota on Ajmer Road around 5:30 A.M. on Friday, triggering widespread alarm in the locality.

The sound of the explosion was audible up to 10 kilometers away, leaving local residents bewildered and frightened about the situation.

Reports indicate that the fire was so fierce that numerous vehicles within a 300-metre radius were consumed and entirely destroyed, with multiple explosions occurring as many of the fuel tanks ruptured.

Eyewitnesses noted that the flames were visible from a considerable distance.

Several drivers sustained severe burns from the incident, with reports of individuals in critical condition. Currently, 10 injured victims have been admitted to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur in a serious state.

Senior officials from the police and fire departments responded swiftly to the emergency, arriving on-site to manage the fire.

Numerous fire trucks were dispatched to combat the blaze, which was spreading in all directions as additional vehicles caught fire.

Authorities also took measures to shut down the LPG pipeline beneath the highway to prevent further spread of the fire.

Locals suspect that the incident might have stemmed from a technical malfunction of the tanker, although the specific cause will be clarified after an investigation.

The area has been cordoned off, with traffic on the highway halted.

Travelers are encouraged to utilize alternate routes. The highway remains closed following the explosion and fire.

More than 30 ambulances and fire brigade units were promptly sent to the scene.

Rescue efforts have proven difficult due to the gas dispersal in the area.
