Tanker Explosion in Jaipur Claims Four Lives and Leaves 30 Injured

Jaipur, Dec 20 (NationPress) In a devastating incident, four individuals perished in flames, and 30 others suffered severe injuries following a truck crashing into a chemical tanker situated in front of the Delhi Public School in Jaipur early Friday morning. The force of the collision was so immense that it caused the tanker to explode, with chemicals dispersing and igniting a massive fire.
Over 20 vehicles were engulfed by flames on the Ajmer Highway, including a sleeper bus that was traveling behind the tanker.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited SMS Hospital to confer with medical staff about the status of the injured.
The explosion occurred around 5:30 A.M. on Friday, after the tanker filled with chemicals was struck by the truck near the Pushparaj Petrol Pump on Ajmer Road in the city.
The blast was so powerful that it was audible up to 10 kilometers away, leaving local residents shocked and confused.
Reports indicate that the intensity of the fire was such that numerous vehicles within a 300-meter radius were completely consumed, with repeated explosions as fuel tanks detonated.
Witnesses reported that the flames were visible from considerable distances.
Many drivers were burned in the calamity, with several reported in critical condition. So far, 10 injured individuals have been admitted to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur in critical condition.
Senior officials from the police and fire department responded swiftly to the emergency, arriving promptly to manage the situation.
Multiple fire trucks were dispatched to combat the raging inferno that was spreading in all directions, as numerous vehicles burned at the site.
Authorities took precautionary measures by shutting down the LPG pipeline beneath the highway to prevent further spread of the fire.
The area has been secured, and traffic on the highway has been halted.
Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes as the highway remains closed due to the explosion and subsequent fire.
More than 30 ambulances and fire brigade vehicles were immediately sent to the location.
Rescue efforts have faced challenges due to the widespread chemicals and fire in the vicinity.
As of the time of this report, efforts to extinguish the fire on vehicles along the Ajmer highway were ongoing.
