Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 24 (NationPress) In a pivotal move aimed at enhancing pre-school education in Madhya Pradesh, the Women and Child Development Department of the state hosted a special event on Tuesday at all Anganwadi centres to present ‘Vidyarambh’ certificates to children who have successfully completed their pre-school education.
The certificates were awarded to children aged five to six years, providing formal recognition of their foundational learning at Anganwadi centres, and assisting their transition into formal schooling.
The main event was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria, held at an Anganwadi centre located in the Nehru Nagar area of Bhopal.
Minister Bhuria distributed the Vidyarambh certificates to children ready to enroll in formal schools after completing their early education at Anganwadis.
Following the Minister's inauguration in Bhopal, the distribution of Vidyarambh certificates commenced at over 97,000 Anganwadi centres across the state, with support from local officials of the Women and Child Development Department.
During her address, Minister Nirmala Bhuria emphasized that Anganwadi centres are vital early learning institutions that provide comprehensive care, focusing on both nutrition and education for children.
“Anganwadi centres are not just places for childcare; they function as hubs for maternal and child health, nutrition, and early education. They support everything from the registration of expectant mothers to the birth of the child, ensuring their nutrition, health, and overall development until they reach six years of age,” she stated.
Bhuria pointed out that particular attention is given to the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth of children aged 3 to 6 years at Anganwadi centres.
Additionally, the Minister praised the dedication of Anganwadi workers, highlighting their crucial roles in maternal and child health, nutrition, and education.
“Their relentless efforts ensure that each year, hundreds of thousands of children receive high-quality early education at Anganwadi centres, preparing them for their transition into formal schooling,” she remarked.
The 'Vidyarambh' certificate is a document linked to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), awarded to Anganwadi students upon finishing their preschool education, thereby facilitating their transition to primary school. It serves as an official record of their early learning, usually containing details such as the child's ID, enrolment date, and Anganwadi centre information.
