Over 7,200 'acharyas' and 'vatuks' came together to recite the third chapter, 'Karma Yoga', on Wednesday, establishing a new record, according to a statement from the government.

This significant event took place simultaneously at Bhopal's Lal Parade Ground and in Ujjain to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the collective recitation of the Gita by thousands of Acharyas in Bhopal and Ujjain has been documented in the 'Guinness Book of World Records'. He extended his congratulations to the citizens of Madhya Pradesh for this remarkable achievement.

Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that Lord Krishna has inspired society throughout his lifetime through divine deeds and principles.

He also mentioned that the event aimed to enlighten the public and connect them to their eternal cultural roots.

On the occasion of the International Gita Mahotsav, the state government organized a variety of events.

During the state-level programs, exhibitions featuring the 'Shrimad Bhagavata Purana' and art focusing on cows and cowherders were showcased.

Furthermore, the Sadho Band from Mumbai was scheduled to perform devotional songs.

The statement noted that hotels across Madhya Pradesh will provide copies of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Valmiki Ramayana, and Ramcharitmanas to educate tourists and visitors about the significance of these sacred texts.

Gita Jayanti is celebrated the day following the Dashami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha.

The teachings of the Gita originated approximately 5,000 years ago when Lord Shri Krishna imparted the principles of Karma to Arjuna during the epic battle between the Kauravas and the Pandavas in Kurukshetra.

On this momentous occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla, BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Hitanand Sharma, Cabinet Minister Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, and other esteemed dignitaries were in attendance.
