Raigad Fort, April 12 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared on Saturday that the state will formulate stringent regulations to take decisive action against individuals who disrespect national heroes and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

“Udayanraje has put forth various requests, including harsh penalties for those who insult our national heroes and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Such offenders ought to be expelled from the fort. However, as a democratic government, we will establish appropriate rules,” the Chief Minister remarked during a gathering at Raigad Fort to commemorate the death anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Present at the event were Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, as well as descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale and Shivendraraje Bhosale.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government will not stand for any disrespect directed at national heroes or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He also revealed plans for the government to unveil the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Regarding the memorial for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Chief Minister stated that the state would pursue the legal case in the high court.

In his address, the Chief Minister articulated the reasons for considering Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a ‘god’ for the people.

“During the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, there were Adilshahi, Mughal raj, and Qutbshahi in our land. It appeared that the dominance of foreign invaders would never cease. The darkness seemed pervasive. Then, with the blessings of mother Jijau, a brilliant figure like Shivaji Maharaj emerged. Without Shivaji Maharaj, we would be nothing,” he stated.

The Chief Minister further noted that Shivaji Maharaj played a pivotal role in uniting the people of the Athrapgad castes.

“By uniting the Mavlas, he established Hindavi Swarajya. It is solely because of Shivaji Maharaj that the saffron rule spread across India,” he asserted.

Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government would seek assistance from the Union Home Minister for the construction of a memorial for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in New Delhi.

He also highlighted that 12 forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have been nominated as world heritage sites.

“A presentation will be made in France regarding this. The government plans to attend, and we are hopeful that these forts will gain world heritage status,” he concluded.
