New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday underscored the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj as an extraordinary event that has not only fortified India's spiritual heritage but also established a new standard in management, planning, and policy-making.
In a blog dedicated to this grand congregation, PM Modi stressed that the Maha Kumbh has become a focal point for study among management professionals, policymakers, and researchers in the spiritual field. He pointed out that the magnitude and organization of this event are unparalleled globally.
"This Maha Kumbh event held in Prayagraj has emerged as a subject of contemporary study for management experts and policy strategists. Today, there is no equivalent to such an immense event anywhere else in the world," he wrote.
Reflecting on its profound spiritual importance, PM Modi emphasized that the fervor of millions of devotees exemplifies India's growing confidence in its heritage.
"If scholars in the spiritual domain analyze the enthusiasm of crores of Indians, they will discover that India, proud of its heritage, is progressing with renewed vigor. I believe this is the herald of a new era that will shape India's future," he stated.
The Prime Minister expressed amazement at the vast number of people who converged at the Triveni Sangam without formal invitations or prior arrangements.
"The entire world is astonished at how such a massive crowd gathered at the Triveni Sangam. These crores of individuals had neither received a formal invitation nor any advance notice about when to arrive. People simply set forth for the Maha Kumbh... and were blessed by bathing in the sacred Sangam," he said.
Recalling his emotional connection to the event, the Prime Minister shared unforgettable moments with the devotees. "I cannot erase those images from my mind... those faces radiating immense joy and satisfaction after their bath. Whether they were women, the elderly, or disabled, everyone made efforts to reach the Sangam," he expressed.
The Prime Minister also noted the significant involvement of the younger generation, calling it a reassuring sign for India's cultural continuity.
"It was heartening to witness that today's youth of India arrived in Prayagraj in such large numbers. Their participation in the Maha Kumbh sends a powerful message. It reaffirms that the young generation of India carries forward our values and culture and recognizes the responsibility to uphold it with determination and dedication," he remarked.
He further noted that the Maha Kumbh influenced not just those present, as many who couldn't attend felt a deep emotional connection.
"The turnout for this Maha Kumbh has undoubtedly set a new record. However, we also observed that those who could not make it to Prayagraj still became emotionally engaged with the event. Those who returned home with water from Triveni Tirtha found that even a few drops imparted the same virtue to millions of devotees as the Kumbh 'snan'. The warm reception they received in every village upon returning from the Kumbh is unforgettable," he said.
Highlighting the extraordinary scale of this year's gathering, PM Modi pointed out that the number of attendees far exceeded predictions.
"This phenomenon has not been witnessed in recent decades. It has laid a foundation for many centuries to come," he noted.
He acknowledged that the administration estimated attendance based on previous Maha Kumbh experiences, but the actual turnout surpassed all projections.
"In Prayagraj, many more devotees arrived than anticipated. One reason for this was that the administration's estimates were based on past Kumbh experiences. However, nearly twice the population of America participated in this Maha Kumbh of unity and took a dip," he stated.
The Maha Kumbh 2025 has now reinforced its status as the world's largest religious gathering while setting new benchmarks in crowd management, logistics, and spiritual engagement.
PM Modi's reflections highlighted the event's role as a unifying force and a testament to India's cultural and spiritual strength.
