Gadchiroli (Maharashtra), June 6 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Friday that the complete eradication of Left Wing Extremism (LWE) is achievable by March 2026. He emphasized that the government's focus is on ensuring safety, enhancing development, creating industries, and generating employment in Gadchiroli while preserving its intrinsic identity of “jal, jameen, jungle” (water, land, and forest).
During his visit, CM Fadnavis, who also serves as the Gadchiroli district guardian minister, noted the government's success in combating LWE over the past decade. He highlighted that efforts have been bolstered by the increased crackdown on Maoist activities by the BJP-led government in neighboring Chhattisgarh.
“I foresee that under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, LWE will be eliminated by March 2026,” he declared.
At the inauguration of a new police outpost, he remarked that it has effectively addressed the security gap and reinforced the presence of police and security forces.
“I am pleased that the police have established an outpost in an area previously underserved by administration. This initiative has created a system that fills the security void, allowing villagers to feel secure in their lives,” he stated.
CM Fadnavis mentioned, “Thus far, six outposts have been set up in Gadchiroli. These facilities help limit Maoist movements and their recruitment. They serve not only as policing stations but also as centers where villagers can access all state government schemes, enhancing their relationship with the administration. With the installation of 4G towers, villagers can now connect to the outside world. Consequently, these outposts are more than just policing stations; they are effective conduits for development.”
Earlier in January, CM Fadnavis commented, “North Gadchiroli has been liberated from LWE... soon South Gadchiroli will also be free. In the past four years, no young individuals have joined the ranks of Maoists... this is a significant achievement. Eleven villages have rejected Maoist influence. The C-60 forces have gained the trust of the community. Now, no one is inclined to join the anti-constitutional movement, which is a cause for celebration. The populace has recognized that justice can only be attained through the Indian Constitution, not through Maoist ideology.”
He also announced that Gadchiroli will soon achieve the status of a Steel City.
