Balaghat, May 12 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued a stern warning to the Maoists on Monday, declaring that they must surrender or face elimination. This statement was made during an event in Balaghat.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of achieving a Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-free India by 2026.
"The Maoists must surrender; otherwise, they will be eliminated. There is no place for LWE on Madhya Pradesh soil," Yadav asserted during the gathering.
He highlighted the effectiveness of ongoing anti-LWE initiatives in the state, noting that Balaghat, previously categorized as one of the 12 most Maoist-affected districts, has now been removed from that classification.
"Thanks to the government's determination and the dedication of the police, Balaghat has been reclassified by the Centre into a less critical category. This achievement is a result of our security forces' efforts," Yadav remarked.
At the event, the Chief Minister honored 64 security personnel (including Police, Hawk Force, and Special Armed Forces) who received out-of-turn promotions for their roles in recent encounters with Maoists in the Balaghat district.
Chief Minister Yadav also paid tribute to 37 courageous police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, stating, "While death is unavoidable, let it be one that brings pride to our nation, state, and society."
He mentioned that under Home Minister Amit Shah's leadership, anti-Maoist operations are being escalated nationwide.
Furthermore, the Madhya Pradesh Police are being equipped with advanced weapons and technologies to bolster this campaign.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 93 development projects worth Rs 169 crore, which included the establishment of the 51st Ayurvedic College of Madhya Pradesh in Balaghat.
