Amravati (Maharashtra), April 15 (NationPress) A man has been apprehended in Maharashtra's Amravati district for allegedly sexually exploiting over 180 minor girls and producing more than 350 explicit videos, according to police reports.

The individual, known as Mohammad Ayaz or Tanveer, a resident of Paratwada, reportedly ensnared young girls in a 'love trap' before transporting them to major cities like Mumbai and Pune, where he is believed to have filmed objectionable content.

Investigators have revealed that these videos were utilized to blackmail the victims, coercing them into prostitution, with some footage allegedly disseminated on the internet as well.

Details from a memorandum submitted by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde to Superintendent of Police, Rural, Vishal Anand, indicate that the accused systematically targeted minors through social media platforms, including WhatsApp and Snapchat.

The MP also threatened to organize protests outside the SP's office if a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was not established to investigate the case.

Following public outcry, police swiftly took action, arresting the suspect and placing him in custody for seven days. His mobile device has been confiscated, and authorities have confirmed it contains numerous explicit videos that are currently under examination as part of the investigation.

Authorities are probing whether the accused shared the footage with accomplices or a larger criminal syndicate. The Cyber Cell is actively involved in tracking and scrutinizing any potentially circulated online content.

The case has ignited widespread outrage in Paratwada and surrounding areas, with protests erupting throughout the city as various organizations and political factions expressed their fury over the severity of the alleged crimes.

A complete shutdown was observed in Paratwada in response to the incident, and significant police presence has been deployed to ensure law and order.

During the investigation, authorities arrested four additional suspects, suggesting the possibility of a larger network involved in these crimes.

Public indignation also reached Achalpur in the Amravati district after reports emerged indicating that the accused had consistently uploaded videos showcasing the exploitation of young females on social media.

In light of the uproar, civic authorities have initiated measures against illegal encroachments associated with the accused.

In the presence of BJP MLA Pravin Tayade, bulldozers were dispatched on Wednesday to demolish structures built on encroached land tied to him.

Officials have indicated that other sections of the accused's property have also been identified as illegal, prompting the Municipal Council to issue a 30-day eviction notice.

MLA Tayade warned that if the illegal structures are not removed within the designated timeframe, further demolition actions would ensue.

The investigation is ongoing, with police striving to uncover the full extent of this exploitation.
