Mumbai, April 30 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the pivotal role of Maharashtra in the nation's development while advocating for the establishment of a more progressive and prosperous state through collective efforts and collaboration.
He expressed optimism that in the future, Maharashtra will emerge as a developed state not just nationally but globally.
On the occasion of Maharashtra Day and Workers' Day (May 1), he conveyed his greetings to the citizens and paid heartfelt tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, and Babasaheb Ambedkar, along with all other distinguished social reformers.
“I pay my humble tribute to all the martyrs whose sacrifices made the establishment of Maharashtra a reality. Maharashtra has demonstrated its greatness through significant contributions to the economic, social, cultural, and political advancement of the country,” stated the Chief Minister in his message on the eve of Maharashtra Day.
He noted that Maharashtra has achieved remarkable progress across various sectors, including industry, education, health, agriculture, art, sports, literature, and social justice over the past 65 years.
“The Marathi language, culture, and literature are the essence of our identity. It is our responsibility to uphold this identity and pass it on to future generations,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Maharashtra is a land of valorous heroes and significant social reformers and freedom fighters.
“This state is endowed with exceptional attributes such as knowledge, detachment, strength, sacrifice, talent, and artistic expression. The legacy of social enlightenment, prevailing peace, law and order, effective resource management, talented citizens, and a diligent young generation have positioned Maharashtra favorably on the global stage,” he stated.
He assured that the government, with collective support, is devoted to constructing a safe and thriving state.
In his Labour Day message, the Chief Minister acknowledged the invaluable contributions of workers to the state's progress, asserting that the working class plays a crucial role in Maharashtra's industrial, social, and economic development.
He reiterated the government's commitment to their welfare and rights protection.
Furthermore, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, on the occasion of the 66th Foundation Day of Maharashtra State, urged, “Let us resolve to uphold Maharashtra’s identity as a ‘civilized’ state while advancing in all sectors such as agriculture, industry, trade, education, health, and cooperation. Let us continue this tradition of unity for Maharashtra’s progress.”
He called upon all to commit to propelling Maharashtra forward with the support from the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for developmental initiatives and the unity of Maharashtra's people.
