Jaipur, Feb 15 (NationPress) Social media influencer Apoorva Makhija has been excluded from IIFA's list of promoters, as confirmed by sources on Friday, stating she is "no longer officially part of the previously selected individuals." IIFA 2025 is set to take place in Jaipur on March 8-9 this year, where Makhija was listed among the promoters.

However, IIFA officials confirmed on Friday that her name has been removed from the roster of IIFA promoters following the significant controversy surrounding podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's inappropriate comments on 'India's Got Latent'. She was also involved as a member of the panel.

On Thursday, a legal complaint was lodged against well-known YouTubers Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Makhija in Kota for allegedly making vulgar and offensive remarks about parents during their comedy show 'India's Got Latent'.

The complaint, filed by a group of lawyers at the Nayapura Police Station, claims that the show promotes obscenity under the guise of humor, which they contend attacks India’s social and moral standards.

The complainants, including lawyers Ritesh Gurjar, Hemlata Sharma, Yash Kumar Nagar, Vishwas Shaktawat, Arvind Rathore, and Rukhsar Syed, stressed that such content adversely affects society, especially the youth, and undermines traditional values.

The controversy ignited after Allahbadia made offensive remarks during an episode of India's Got Latent, a reality show featuring comedians and influencers as both judges and participants.

The remarks, considered inappropriate by many, sparked widespread outrage and led to multiple complaints across the nation.

Additionally, Assam Police have registered a case related to obscenity and public morality.

Allahbadia, Raina, and others including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija have been named in the case based on the complaint.

Apoorva is a social media influencer who rose to fame for her skits and reels on Instagram during the Covid pandemic. She participated as a guest panelist on the recent episode of 'India's Got Latent', where she engaged in a heated exchange with a contestant.

Apoorva had appeared as a guest panelist alongside Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and host Samay Raina.
