Mumbai, Feb 11 (NationPress) The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and several others for inquiry due to the controversy surrounding the show India's Got Latent.

The NCW has voiced its concerns regarding the purportedly derogatory and racist comments made by the involved content creators. The Commission has taken a firm stance against the lewd and offensive remarks from creators including Ranveer, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, as well as the show's producers, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra.

The NCW’s correspondence stated, “In a society that upholds equality and mutual respect, these comments, which have sparked significant public outrage, undermine the dignity and respect every individual deserves.”

Under the direction of NCW Chairperson Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, a hearing has been arranged to discuss the controversial remarks from the content creators on India's Got Latent. This session is set to occur at the NCW office in New Delhi on February 17. Reports indicate that actions have escalated against the roast show India's Got Latent. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has initiated a case, involving around 30 to 40 individuals. Notices are reportedly being sent to all involved, and they will soon be required to present their statements to the Cyber Cell.

The Cyber Department has allegedly filed the case under pertinent sections of the IT Act and has requested the removal of all episodes from the comedy show.

On February 10, podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia publicly apologized, acknowledging that his remarks were “not appropriate” and “not even funny.” In a video message, Ranveer stated, “My comment was not appropriate, was not even funny, comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I use my platform; obviously, this is not how I wished to use it.”

He continued, “I am not going to provide any context, justification, or reasoning behind whatever occurred. I am simply offering an apology. I personally experienced a lapse in judgment; it was not cool on my part. The podcast is viewed by people of all ages, and I don’t want to be the kind of person who doesn’t take responsibility; family is the last thing I would ever disrespect. I need to utilize this platform more effectively; that’s my takeaway from this entire experience. I promise to improve; I have requested the creators to eliminate the insensitive segment from the video. I am sorry; I hope you can forgive me as a human being.
