Mumbai, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Khar police in Mumbai have issued a second summons to the renowned podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, requesting his presence for questioning on Friday regarding the inappropriate and offensive remarks he made during the show 'India’s Got Latent.'
This follows his failure to show up at the police station on Thursday, despite having a stipulated deadline until 3 p.m.
To date, authorities have collected statements from seven individuals, including prominent YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, content creator Apoorva Makhija, and the father of Balraj Singh Ghai, owner of The Habitat Studio.
Production manager and chief programmer Tushar Pujari, along with three other studio staff members, have also provided their accounts in this matter.
As per police sources, Tushar Pujari, who was in charge of contestant selection for the show, mentioned that he shortlisted only 14 participants. He asserted that these contestants performed acts during the show, with the winner being decided based on the judges’ evaluations.
Comedian Samay Raina has also received a second summons from the Maharashtra Cyber Police after his legal representative sought additional time due to his ongoing tour in the US. Despite Raina’s public apology and the removal of all episodes from his channel, his legal complications are intensifying. The police have now directed him to report on February 17.
The uproar began after Ranveer Allahbadia made comments about parents and sexual matters on comedian Samay Raina’s show, which went viral on social media, leading to widespread condemnation.
In response to public outrage, numerous police complaints were lodged against Allahbadia and others involved with the show in both Mumbai and Guwahati.
The cyber cell and Mumbai police are conducting separate investigations concerning Allahbadia’s remarks on Raina’s YouTube program 'India’s Got Latent.'
A team from Assam Police is also present in Mumbai as part of the investigation and met with officials from the Maharashtra cyber cell on Thursday.
