Mumbai, Feb 14 (NationPress) YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, under fire for his contentious remarks on a comedy show, has missed a second summons from the Khar Police in Mumbai, which is looking into his disputed comments made during an episode of fellow content creator Samay Raina's comedy series, India’s Got Latent.

On Friday, officials from Mumbai's Khar Police and Assam Police visited Allahbadia’s residence in Andheri but found it locked. The police had originally summoned him to appear on Friday to provide his statement, but he did not comply.

Assam Police, also investigating the matter, placed a notice at his home instructing him to report to them at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Allahbadia filed a plea with the Supreme Court on Friday, seeking protection against coercive measures from investigative agencies. His petition under Article 32 of the Constitution, contesting multiple FIRs, was brought before Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna for urgent consideration. However, CJI Khanna refused to expedite the hearing, stating, “We have already assigned a listing date. No oral mentioning, please.”

The uproar began after remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia concerning parents and sexuality during comedian Samay Raina’s show gained traction on social media, leading to widespread backlash.

In response to the public outcry, several police complaints have been lodged against Allahbadia and others involved with the show in both Mumbai and Guwahati.

Thus far, the police have documented statements from seven individuals, including popular YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, content creator Apoorva Makhija, and the father of Balraj Singh Ghai, the owner of The Habitat Studio.

Production manager and chief programmer Tushar Pujari, along with three other studio staff, have also shared their accounts regarding the case.

According to police insiders, Tushar Pujari, who was in charge of selecting contestants for the show, mentioned that he shortlisted only 14 participants. He stated that these individuals performed acts on the show, and the winner was chosen based on the judges’ evaluations.
