Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) Comedian Samay Raina has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to participate in case proceedings regarding the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy. The cyber cell has requested the comedian to appear on either March 27 or March 28 for questioning related to the contentious statements made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on the show.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell recorded Samay’s statement on Monday but has now called him back for further questioning.

Previously, the comedian expressed his remorse about the events stemming from the show. In his official statement to authorities, he remarked, “I will be more cautious in the future to prevent such incidents. The entire situation has affected my mental health. My Canada tour was also unsuccessful. I apologize for my remarks; I recognize that my comments were inappropriate.”

Prior to this, Samay postponed his return to India and rescheduled his tour in the country. Recently, he updated his audience via Instagram Stories, confirming that he has adjusted his India tour plans and assured ticket holders that their funds would be refunded promptly.

He stated, “Hello everyone, I’m rescheduling my India tour. You will receive refunds shortly; see you soon.”

The controversy ignited after remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia regarding parents and sex during Samay Raina's show went viral online, triggering considerable backlash.

Video footage captures Ranveer, a podcaster, asserting, “Would you rather watch your parents having sex or join them once and end it forever?”

In response to the public uproar, multiple police complaints were lodged against Allahbadia and others connected to the show in both Mumbai and Guwahati. The cyber cell and Mumbai police are conducting separate investigations related to Allahbadia's comments made on Raina's YouTube show ‘India's Got Latent’.
