Kolkata, Feb 12 (NationPress) A man has been detained by the authorities in Kultali, located in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, on Wednesday for the alleged rape of a differently-abled minor girl in the area.

The suspect was apprehended in the act by local residents. After administering a severe beating, the community members handed him over to the police.

An investigation has been initiated by the police. The minor victim has undergone a medical examination.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred while the victim was alone at her residence; her parents were away at work and her elder sister was at a nearby bank.

The accused, a neighbor of the victim’s family, took this opportunity to enter the home and perpetrate the crime. Fortunately, the victim's screams alerted a nearby resident.

This neighbor rushed to the scene and looked through the window, witnessing the assault. They promptly notified others, who then stormed the house and caught the perpetrator in the act.
