Patna, April 13 (NationPress) Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi expressed his frustration on Sunday regarding the BJP-JD(U) leadership's alleged unfair practices in establishing the 20-point program committees in Bihar's Gaya district.
During an executive meeting of his party in Patna, Manjhi criticized the NDA allies for neglecting the HAM in local organizational appointments, despite the party's elected representation in the area.
"Out of six Assembly seats in Gaya, three are held by our party. I am also an MP from there. Yet, in the 20-point program committee for Gaya, we were allocated only one seat," stated the HAM Chief, adding that even the block-level committee roles were dominated by the BJP and JD-U.
The 20-point program, a central socio-economic initiative, is vital for effective policy execution at the grassroots.
Manjhi insisted that the HAM should lead the committees in blocks where it has MLA seats, arguing that disregarding local representation undermines the essence of partnership within the NDA.
He further mentioned that NDA leaders have recognized this oversight as a "mistake," but no immediate corrective measures have been communicated.
Reiterating HAM's electoral goals, Manjhi demanded 35 seats for the forthcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, asserting the party's confidence in securing at least 20 seats if granted the chance.
"With 20 MLAs, we can effectively advocate for the people. No matter who the Chief Minister is, our concerns will be addressed," he declared.
Manjhi clarified that while these requests reflect the ambitions of party workers, the final decision rests with HAM President Santosh Kumar Suman.
Nevertheless, Manjhi confirmed that the HAM remains loyal to the NDA and has no intentions of dissolving the alliance.
"We are not departing from the NDA. As a party leader, it is my prerogative to demand more seats. We merely seek a fair allocation that mirrors our ground strength," he concluded.
This announcement arrives amidst a politically dynamic environment in Bihar, with various parties intensifying organizational efforts ahead of the state elections.
