Ludhiana, March 18 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, along with Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), spearheaded a significant ‘Lok Milni’ event in Ludhiana (West) on Monday. This initiative highlighted AAP’s dedication to participatory governance by directly addressing public grievances and presenting the party’s transformative vision for the area.
With Sanjeev Arora, AAP’s candidate for Ludhiana (West) Assembly, by their side, the leaders invigorated the audience, calling for collective action against corruption, drugs, and years of neglect from previous administrations.
During his address, Chief Minister Mann stated: “Throughout the past 75 years, no Chief Minister or minister bothered to meet you in your community, let alone allow you to express your concerns. Their inability stemmed from the corruption and misconduct that characterized their time in office. In contrast, we have nothing to conceal. We’ve established a transparent, citizen-centered government that genuinely listens to its people.”
Mann tackled various issues raised during the gathering, including law and order, water supply, playgrounds, and sewerage systems. He instructed officials present to act promptly, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability. He reiterated the government's commitment against drugs.
Mann emphasized: “Punjab is engaged in an unprecedented battle against drugs. For the first time, we are using bulldozers to demolish the residences of drug peddlers. Significant arrests are causing concern in Pakistan, as their drones find no market in Punjab anymore.”
He assured that every drug trafficker would face justice and called on the public to unite with the government in this fight. Chief Minister Mann criticized the past administrations from the Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal for damaging Punjab over the last 75 years through corruption and mismanagement.
He pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party has not engaged in any corruption or misconduct in its three years of governance, a record that stands unmatched by previous governments.
Mann also highlighted how the Punjab government is addressing long-standing civic challenges, such as sewerage issues that lingered for 15 to 20 years.
These inherited problems are now being systematically addressed under AAP’s administration. He urged the people of Punjab to come together against drug traffickers, showcasing the government's success in thwarting Pakistan’s attempts to smuggle drugs into the state.
In his address, Kejriwal drew attention to AAP’s accomplishments and their battle against deeply entrenched corruption.
He remarked: “For decades, Punjab’s resources were plundered by corrupt leaders. The Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal were preoccupied with their own enrichment while the populace endured hardship. Today, under AAP’s administration, corruption is being eliminated, and development is being prioritized.”
Kejriwal showcased AAP's progress in Punjab, including free electricity, enhanced healthcare, and educational reforms. Regarding the specific issues in Ludhiana (West), he noted: “Sanjeev Arora has already started addressing broken roads, installing transformers, and upgrading infrastructure. Under his leadership, the constituency’s challenges will be resolved systematically.”
Kejriwal encouraged voters to back Sanjeev Arora, stating: “If you desire development, choose AAP. If you want chaos and abuses, select the Congress or the Akalis. However, I am confident the residents of Ludhiana (West) favor progress and will support AAP.”
