Mathura, Feb 10 (NationPress) A tragic discovery was made as authorities found five family members deceased in a village under the jurisdiction of the Mahavan police station in Uttar Pradesh. Preliminary investigations suggest that this may be a case of mass suicide.

The victims included a father, his spouse, and their three children. The grim incident was uncovered when local villagers noticed that the family had not emerged from their dwelling for an extended period.

Upon peeking through a window, neighbors were horrified to see the family lying lifeless. They promptly alerted the police.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they discovered glasses of milk positioned near the bodies, raising suspicions that a toxic substance might have been mixed in. A forensic unit was summoned to gather evidence from the location.

According to Mahavan Circle Officer Shweta Verma, a video retrieved from the home indicates that the family may have taken this drastic measure voluntarily.

“At first glance, it seems the father may have killed his wife and children before taking his own life. There are no signs of third-party involvement at this time,” she stated, emphasizing that all dimensions of the case are under rigorous examination.

A neighbor recounted that the family never confided their struggles. “Whenever we inquired, they always insisted everything was fine,” the neighbor remarked.

Police have reported finding a suicide note and some writings related to suicide on the wall, alongside a video linked to the act.

However, authorities mentioned that the precise motive behind this tragic decision remains unclear. Officials noted that the family was involved in agricultural activities.

Reports indicated that the five individuals were discovered unconscious within their home and were pronounced dead following a medical examination. While initial suspicions suggest the consumption of a toxic substance, the exact cause and time of death will be verified through post-mortem reports, authorities stated.

All five bodies have been dispatched to the district hospital for autopsy. Senior police officials are interrogating relatives and neighbors to determine if the family faced financial difficulties, familial strife, or any other pressures. Investigations are also delving into the family’s recent behavior and social conditions.

This incident has left the village in a state of mourning. The police emphasized that a comprehensive understanding will emerge from forensic analysis and post-mortem results.
