What Were Praveen Mittal's Last Words Before the Tragic Mass Suicide?

Panchkula, May 27 (NationPress) As the Haryana Police delve into the disturbing incident involving the tragic deaths of seven family members discovered inside a vehicle in Panchkula, local resident Puneet Rana has shared a haunting account of his last interaction with Praveen Mittal. During this encounter, Praveen disclosed that he had ingested poison alongside his family and ominously declared that he would perish in just a few minutes.

The heartbreaking incident has shaken the community and is being investigated by authorities as a case of mass suicide, reportedly driven by financial hardships. Among those who lost their lives are Praveen Mittal and his father, Deshraj Mittal.

Rana vividly recounted how he first encountered Praveen Mittal. "The car was stationed near my home with luggage strapped on top, prompting us to investigate. Upon peering inside, we were met with the sight of individuals lying down. When we inquired about their condition, they claimed to be resting due to not finding a hotel after returning from a dham."

Rana suggested that they relocate the vehicle to a nearby market. "They agreed and began to move, but then I detected an unusual odor emanating from within. I instructed them to halt, turned on my flashlight, and examined the scene closely - they were sprawled atop one another. Something felt off, so I promptly alerted the authorities," he recounted.

"I shook the children, but they remained unresponsive. The boy was already deceased. Behind him, others were lying still. One man, likely Praveen, was still awake and murmured, ‘I will be dying in five minutes.’ Moments later, he collapsed."

Rana noted that signs of vomiting in the vehicle suggested the possibility of poison being ingested with food.

"Praveen mentioned that they had consumed poison. He cited overwhelming debts owed to banks and lamented the lack of support from family members, which led them to this tragic decision."

However, the Mittal family contests the narrative of financial strain. Relatives of Praveen Mittal assert that there was no undue pressure from creditors and are actively requesting the suicide note from the police.

Praveen Mittal's nephew, Ankit Mittal, rejected the theory of financial crisis, highlighting that while Praveen had faced challenges in the past, including a business setback around 2007, there were no recent signs of acute financial distress.

Despite initial findings suggesting suicide, law enforcement officials have initiated a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances and motives surrounding this heartbreaking event.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Himadri Kaushik, who visited the site, verified the deaths and the ongoing investigation. "We received reports that six individuals were taken to Ojas Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival. Another individual was transported to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, but was also declared deceased. At first glance, this appears to be a suicide case. All the deceased are members of the same family," she stated.

According to investigators, Praveen Mittal had been operating a tour and travel business in Dehradun, reportedly incurring significant financial losses, which the police believe may have contributed to the mass suicide.
