Panchkula, May 27 (NationPress) - A tragic incident unfolded when seven members of a family were discovered deceased in a vehicle parked near their residence in Sector 27 of Haryana's Panchkula. It is believed that the family consumed poison, with authorities suspecting a case of joint suicide linked to significant financial strain.

According to law enforcement officials, the deceased were originally from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and had come to Panchkula to participate in a spiritual gathering at Bageshwar Dham.

The victims included Praveen Mittal, aged 42, his parents, his spouse, and their three children - two daughters and a son.

Initial reports suggest this heartbreaking event transpired on Sunday when the family was making their way back to Dehradun after the conclusion of the five-day Hanuman Katha event.

While searching for accommodations near Sector 27, Praveen Mittal reportedly took this drastic measure, consuming poison along with his family, as indicated by sources.

Nearby residents were the first to observe the family in the parked vehicle, appearing sick and struggling. Alarmed by the distressing sight, they promptly alerted the police.

Upon receiving the call, police rushed to the scene and forcibly opened the car doors in a desperate attempt to save the unconscious family members.

The victims were taken to both a private and a civil hospital nearby, where medical staff pronounced all seven dead upon arrival. Following the incident, the bodies were transported to a private hospital in Panchkula for post-mortem examinations.

In a statement to the media, DCP Himadri Kaushik revealed, "Preliminary investigations indicate a suicide, but the inquiry is ongoing. Our forensic team is on-site, collecting all evidence from the crime scene for thorough scientific analysis."

Sources disclosed that a suicide note was located inside the car. The note, allegedly penned by the family head, cited overwhelming financial obligations and pressure as the primary motives behind this tragic decision.

Forensic specialists are currently scrutinizing the note and other materials retrieved from the scene to authenticate its validity and context.

"The entire situation is under investigation by the forensic team," stated DCP Law and Order Amit Dahiya, who, alongside DCP Himadri Kaushik, arrived at the scene after receiving news of the event.

Sources revealed that Praveen Mittal and his family had been grappling with considerable debts for some time, which may have led them to this extreme action.

Authorities are diligently working to confirm all details related to the incident and are reaching out to extended family members to aid in the investigation and final rites.

The police have officially logged the case, and investigations are currently underway.
