New Delhi, Nov 27 (NationPress) On the second-to-last day of campaigning for the MCD by-elections, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta actively participated in multiple meetings and spearheaded efforts with BJP leaders to entice voters by pledging to create a better and more beautiful city.
CM Gupta conducted a roadshow on Maharishi Valmiki Marg in Dakshinpuri, advocating for BJP candidate Rohini Raj from Ward-164, in anticipation of the November 30 MCD by-elections covering 12 wards. Member of Parliament Ramvir Singh Bidhuri also participated in the event.
In addition, CM Gupta held a public assembly in Chhatta Lal Mian in Old Delhi, campaigning for the by-election in Chandni Mahal ward.
She urged the residents of Delhi, particularly those in Chandni Mahal Ward, to elect only BJP councillors to receive the advantages of the BJP's comprehensive development agenda.
Alongside the Chief Minister, other notable figures addressed the gathering, including District President Arvind Garg, District Incharge Rajesh Bhatia, Election Coordinator Atif Rashid, State Co-Office Secretary Amit Gupta, State Spokesperson Yasir Jilani, and candidate Sunil Sharma.
CM Gupta stressed that the BJP government prioritizes development and better governance in Delhi.
She reiterated that the BJP operates under the Constitution, valuing equality without discrimination against any religion or community. Overall development is achieved by ensuring equal rights for all citizens.
During her roadshow, the Chief Minister lamented the stagnant conditions in Dakshinpuri, which have persisted despite years of habitation.
She personally assessed the state of crumbling roads, poor public toilets, and lack of essential facilities. Notably, she pointed out that despite previous support for the jhaadu symbol, residents have seen no enhancements in water supply, road construction, sewer lines, new schools, colleges, ration cards, or pensions. She urged the public to reconsider their votes for those who have delivered nothing.
The Chief Minister asserted that Dakshinpuri now requires honest and development-focused leadership.
She highlighted that in just ten months since the government was formed, a special budget of Rs 100 crore has been allocated for Deoli Assembly, which will cover new pipelines, sewer lines, road construction, and other vital infrastructure.
