Shillong, Aug 14 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, emphasized on Thursday that the freedom we enjoy today is the result of hard-fought struggles and sacrifices made by our leaders. He stated, "Our freedom is hard-earned, and we must constantly recall the sacrifices of our leaders, which allow us to lead independent lives today."

While attending a theatrical performance focused on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the auditorium of the Directorate General of Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, the Chief Minister expressed that experiencing such a play just before the 79th Independence Day of India adds significant meaning to it.

He remarked, "Theatre can effectively bring history to life, making it more relatable, especially for the younger generation," and added, "Let us draw motivation from the unwavering spirit of Subhas Chandra Bose."

According to the Chief Minister, it is essential to narrate the stories of our heroes of freedom to educate today’s youth about the sacrifices made for our nation.

In a post shared on social media platform X, he stated, "The indomitable spirit of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose continues to inspire us. The contributions and sacrifices of our freedom fighters remind us that our freedom was hard-earned. We must continue to share their narratives so that the next generation always remembers their sacrifices."

The play, titled 'Rashtraputra', aims to cultivate character and patriotism among the youth by dramatizing the struggles and ideals of India's national heroes.

This theatrical presentation not only pays homage to the life and legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose but also aims to preserve the essence of India's history, inspiring youth, nurturing patriotism, and promoting a sense of national unity and shared heritage.

Simultaneously, in preparation for the 79th Independence Day celebrations, security measures have been enhanced, especially along the international border in the region.
