Mumbai, Jan 5 (NationPress) A disturbing incident has emerged from Mira Bhayandar in Mumbai, under the jurisdiction of the Valiv police station, where a 15-year-old girl was reportedly abducted, subjected to forced religious conversion, and sexually assaulted by a local man, as confirmed by officials on Monday.
The perpetrator has been identified as Javed.
Initially, the two forged a friendship in their neighborhood. However, Javed took advantage of this bond by secretly capturing explicit images and videos of her, subsequently blackmailing her into traveling with him to Madhya Pradesh.
Once in Madhya Pradesh, she was held captive for six months, enduring continuous abuse, as reported by authorities.
Javed escalated the situation further by creating a fraudulent Instagram account using the girl's identity and photos, where he even posted a rate card for her services, attempting to auction her online.
It was revealed that he coerced her into converting to Islam and forced her to consume beef, adding to the trauma of a young girl who had recently lost her father.
In a brave escape, she managed to flee from a single room in Madhya Pradesh and returned home to Mumbai.
Upon her return, she recounted her harrowing experiences to her family, who promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Valiv police station.
Despite her efforts to file an FIR, Javed is still at large.
The victim has expressed her fear, stating that the police have yet to apprehend him, leaving her life in jeopardy.
In desperation, she is now penning a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, pleading for immediate action.
The police have stated that they are actively investigating the case and are on the lookout for the accused.
Further updates are pending.
This incident arises amidst a backdrop of ongoing efforts in Maharashtra by Hindutva groups, who are pushing for the state government to enact a stringent anti-conversion law, often referred to as an 'anti-love jihad' law.
