New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) BJP's Kapil Mishra has achieved a significant victory from the Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency, winning by over 23,000 votes against AAP's Manoj Kumar Tyagi and Congress' P.K. Mishra.
After his triumph, Mishra celebrated with BJP supporters, attributing the party's success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and vision for Delhi.
"The citizens of Delhi have shown their faith in 'Modi ki Guarantee'. When PM Modi sought support from Delhiites, they decided to vote for the BJP. Today, the people of Delhi have rejected Kejriwal's deceit, corruption, and lies and thrown them into the Yamuna," Mishra stated to IANS, referencing AAP's claims regarding the Yamuna's pollution.
"Delhi will now progress following PM Modi's model," he continued.
Mishra, a former AAP MLA, was nominated by the BJP for Karawal Nagar after the party replaced five-time MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, who successfully ran from Mustafabad.
Discussing the election outcomes, Mishra remarked, "Everyone on the ground anticipated that Kejriwal and Sisodia would face defeat. The populace of Delhi voted for clean water, a clean Yamuna, and improved roads—they voted for PM Modi's governance model."
As per the Election Commission data, the BJP has officially secured 44 Assembly seats and is leading in 4 additional ones, while the AAP has won 21 seats and is ahead in 1 more.
Numerous prominent BJP figures have triumphed with considerable margins, such as Parvesh Verma (New Delhi), Satish Upadhyay (Malviya Nagar), Kailash Gahlot (Bijwasan), and Tarvinder Singh Marwah (Jangpura).
Conversely, several key AAP leaders, including the party's National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj (Greater Kailash), and Satyendar Jain (Shakur Basti), faced major losses.
Meanwhile, the Congress party once again failed to secure any seats in the national capital.
