New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) BJP candidate from Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency, Kapil Mishra, will submit his nomination on Thursday for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
While addressing a rally prior to his nomination, Mishra conveyed his optimism regarding his victory as well as the BJP's overall performance in Delhi.
In a conversation with IANS, he stated, "This election signifies a shift in power in Delhi. There is an anti-government wave. The BJP will establish the government in Delhi with a substantial majority, and we expect to win by a considerable margin in the Karawal Nagar Assembly."
"The residents of Karawal Nagar are set to present a magnificent, fragrant saffron lotus to Prime Minister Modi on February 8," he added.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari was also present at the rally, sharing his faith in Mishra's victory.
"The enthusiasm, affection, and backing from the public are remarkable. We are certain to win Karawal Nagar with a significant margin, and we will also triumph in Delhi," Tiwari mentioned to IANS.
During his address, Mishra criticized AIMIM for selecting Tahir Hussain, the key suspect in the 2020 Delhi riots and a former AAP councillor, as their candidate for the Mustafabad Assembly constituency.
"He (Tahir Hussain) should not have been nominated as a candidate. AIMIM has committed an error by fielding a murderer. We are contesting the elections based on issues like electricity, water, and roads, but it is inappropriate to nominate someone like Hussain," he remarked.
He further accused AAP of awarding a ticket to an individual who supported Tahir Hussain.
"If candidates like him are put forward, both the people of Delhi and we will not accept it. Our response will be firm," Mishra asserted.
Tahir Hussain is set to compete against BJP's Mohan Singh Bisht and AAP's Adil Ahmed Khan in Mustafabad.
Bisht is also preparing to file his nomination, accompanied by a throng of supporters during his roadshow.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly are scheduled for February 5, with the counting of votes occurring on February 8.
