Delhi Elections: BJP Unveils Its Second Batch of 29 Candidates; Notable Figures Include Kapil Mishra and Harish Khurana

New Delhi, Jan 11 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially concluded the speculation surrounding candidate selections by unveiling its second list for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

This second list features 29 candidates, including notable personalities such as Kapil Mishra, the Vice-President of Delhi BJP, and Harish Khurana, the Secretary of Delhi BJP.

Kapil Mishra will compete from the Karawal Nagar constituency, while Harish Khurana is set to contest from the Moti Nagar Assembly seat.

Both have been outspoken in their criticisms of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal, particularly regarding what they describe as ‘flawed policies and unfulfilled promises’.

Another significant name on the list is Abhay Verma, the current legislator for Laxmi Nagar, who has been retained due to his commendable performance.

Reports indicate that some sitting legislators from key areas like Chandni Chowk and Shakur Basti have been dropped due to a perceived lack of public engagement.

With the release of these 29 names, the BJP has now announced a total of 58 candidates, leaving 12 more nominees yet to be revealed for the 70-member Assembly.

Insiders suggest that the remaining names are expected to be disclosed in the coming days, pending approval from the BJP leadership.

In this fiercely contested election, AAP is the only party that has disclosed all 70 candidates, while Congress has introduced three candidate lists totaling 48 names.

With the latest announcement, BJP’s candidate count has increased to 58.

High-stakes electoral battles are anticipated in several constituencies, including New Delhi, where AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s Parvesh Verma, and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit will go head-to-head.

The Kalkaji constituency is another focal point, featuring Congress' Alka Lamba and BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, who will challenge AAP’s CM Atishi as she seeks re-election.
