Aizawl, Feb 3 (NationPress) Mizoram's Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced on Tuesday that the state government is prioritizing the enhancement of public service delivery, aiming to make it more efficient, faster, and accessible to all citizens.
Reaffirming his aspiration to place Mizoram at the forefront of digital governance in India, the Chief Minister underlined the government’s dedication to utilizing technology to increase transparency and provide citizen-centric services.
While inaugurating the computerization of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) in Aizawl, Lalduhoma pointed out the numerous digital initiatives that have been implemented over the past two years, with continued progress being made.
Emphasizing the state’s advantages, he noted that Mizoram, being a small state with a relatively low population, boasts high literacy rates and a widespread command of the English language, which lays a solid groundwork for excelling in digital service delivery.
The Chief Minister revealed that over 20 online service portals have been launched in the last two years.
He mentioned that the newly inaugurated Mizoram CSR Connect Portal and the launch of the cooperation department's computerization are significant milestones.
Lalduhoma asserted that this initiative will substantially enhance the accessibility and efficiency of cooperative societies throughout the state, streamlining processes for departmental staff. He commended the Minister and department officials for completing the project promptly.
During the event, Cooperation Minister P.C. Vanlalruata stated that Mizoram is one of the first states in India to successfully implement this initiative and is the first to fully computerize all offices of the Cooperation Department. He expressed pride in this accomplishment and thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating the project.
Commissioner and Secretary of the Cooperation Department, Adit Prakash Rai, provided insights into the RCS computerization project, which began in Mizoram on March 29 last year.
He explained that the project encompasses not just the RCS office in Aizawl but also cooperative offices across all districts. The 'RCS, Mizoram Office Application/Portal' has been developed under the centrally sponsored scheme of the Ministry of Cooperation, titled Strengthening Cooperatives Through IT Interventions.
The main aim of the project is to facilitate the ease of doing business for cooperative societies and enable digital interactions with the RCS and district cooperative offices, thereby reducing the necessity for physical visits.
