Meerut, Feb 22 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party for the disorder and interruptions that occurred during the Budget Session of Parliament, stating that one cannot ascend to the position of Prime Minister merely by sending women MPs to "occupy" seats.

During a significant public event in Meerut, PM Modi recounted the incident from February 4, when women Congress MPs encircled his seat in the Lok Sabha just as he was about to deliver his Motion of Thanks in response to the President's Address.

He remarked, "The Congress party is consistently engaging in such antics. What did they accomplish in Parliament? They neither perform nor allow their allies to express themselves. They obstruct the functioning of Parliament, resulting in the greatest detriment to Congress's allied parties."

The Prime Minister further admonished Congress regarding the Parliament incident, stating, "If your ambition is to occupy the Prime Minister's chair, you must win the hearts of the people. You cannot achieve this by merely sending women MPs to occupy seats. What prompts such desperate actions? Have you really become this superficial? Congress has become a burden to the nation."

Modi also condemned Congress for its youth wing's recent shirtless protest at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, asserting that this demonstration exemplifies the ideological bankruptcy of the oldest political party in the country.

This criticism followed a protest by Youth Congress members in New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam during the prominent summit, where they chanted slogans against PM Modi and the Central government over issues like "unemployment, inflation, and the proposed India-US trade deal."

"Today, Indians are striving hard to realize the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Yet, there are political factions that cannot tolerate the nation's progress. Just a few days ago, India hosted the largest AI summit globally... Such a historic event has never occurred in any developing nation. Were you not proud of this AI summit?"

"The entire nation was filled with pride. However, what did Congress do? They transformed a global event into a venue for their dirty and naked politics. Congress leaders arrived at the venue inappropriately dressed before foreign guests," he added.

"I question the Congress leaders, the nation acknowledges your lack of substance, so why did you feel the need to expose yourselves? This illustrates that the oldest party in India has descended into ideological bankruptcy," he concluded.

He accused the Congress party of tarnishing the nation’s image, stating, "When a wedding occurs in a village, everyone pitches in to ensure that guests take away a favorable impression of the village. However, Congress is intent on discrediting its own country."

"They must realize that the AI Summit was not a BJP event, and no BJP leaders were present at that time. This was a national event, a reflection of the country’s hard work. Yet, Congress has crossed all lines. Now, the entire nation is criticizing Congress for its policies," he stated.

PM Modi also rebuked Congress leaders for applauding their youth wing's protest.

"Regrettably, the leaders of the oldest party in India commend those who have embarrassed the nation instead of denouncing them," he remarked.

Addressing the media, PM Modi urged, "You should halt this tactic of attempting to shield the Indian National Congress. By repeatedly labeling it as 'the opposition,' you are safeguarding Congress. Other parties in the opposition have recognized that Congress is at fault, yet they are the ones facing repercussions."

"What transpired in Delhi did not involve TMC, DMK, BSP, or Farooq Abdullah's party; it was solely the reckless actions of Congress leaders that are continuously striving to jeopardize the nation," he emphasized.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to the INDIA bloc allies for their criticism of the Youth Congress's shirtless protest, stating, "One thing that brings me satisfaction is that all of Congress's allies have exhibited the courage to criticize the party following the Delhi incident. I appreciate them for this."
