How Can You Live in Harmony with Your Aspirations? PM Modi Inspires Gujarat Tribal Students
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gandhinagar, Feb 9 (NationPress) In his annual ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a meaningful dialogue with students from Gujarat’s Devmogra, especially focusing on tribal youth. The discussion covered vital topics such as education, techniques for managing stress, career options, and the essential role of tribal communities in the nation's development.
The students, predominantly from tribal backgrounds, greeted the Prime Minister in their local dialect and expressed joy upon noticing his attire, which showcased their traditional folk art.
“Meeting you is a dream come true, Sir. We all yearn for this moment,” one student shared with PM Modi.
During the conversation, he reminisced about two students, Jai and Avi from Mandvi, whom he met in 2022, underlining his commitment to engaging with young minds from the region.
When a student inquired about his motivation to uplift Gujarat’s tribal areas, PM Modi reflected on his experiences at the Pal-Chitariya event and the hurdles tribal communities have encountered.
“The liberation of the tribal community was pivotal and came with numerous challenges. I once witnessed a devastating famine and dedicated much time to assist there. This experience illuminated the critical need for educational focus, and once I became Chief Minister, I prioritized this sector,” he stated.
He noted advancements in educational facilities, saying, “You might be surprised to learn that there were no science schools from Umbergaon to Ambaji. Now, numerous institutions are enhancing educational opportunities for students.”
“Education is fundamental for progress, and robust infrastructure serves as the bedrock for sustainable growth,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
Students sought guidance on managing exam-related anxiety, referencing significant national events like the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, which contribute to mental strain. He motivated them to concentrate on preparation and practice.
“Think back to your previous exams. Before the exam, stress is prevalent, but after, it dissipates. The key to succeeding in exams is consistent practice in writing, rather than mere reading. Many only read; however, if you engage in practice, stress will diminish,” he advised.
He further encouraged students to cultivate a healthy lifestyle for mental rejuvenation.
“Laughter and adequate sleep are crucial for refreshing your mind,” he advised.
When another student asked about navigating the myriad of career options available, the Prime Minister humorously addressed how parents often respond to varied aspirations and encouraged students to chase their dreams.
“Learn to live in harmony with your aspirations,” PM Modi advised.
Additionally, he highlighted the significance of tribal culture and heritage.
Tribal artist Kishan Janabhai Rathava gifted him a Pithora Art painting, a traditional artwork symbolizing divine blessings.
“It was a privilege for me that the Prime Minister accepted my artwork. It felt as if I was conversing with a friend,” Kishan expressed.
The Prime Minister also stressed the necessity of support from teachers and parents in shaping a student's journey.
“When you encounter any remarkable individual, you will invariably notice two influential figures in their life: their mother and their teacher,” he told the students.
Responding to inquiries about how tribal youth can aid in national progress, PM Modi acknowledged the longstanding contributions of the community.
“The advancements our country has made are significantly attributed to the tribal community. The prosperity of India is enriched by its tribal populations, who revere and safeguard nature. Even now, a substantial number of tribal individuals serve in the Indian armed forces. There should be no disparity across various sectors in our nation,” he remarked, citing Indian cricketer Kranti Gaud, a tribal woman from Madhya Pradesh.
Students expressed their delight after the session, noting that the interaction with the Prime Minister left a lasting impression. “We lost track of time while talking to PM Modi,” one student reflected.
They also showcased tribal songs, contributing to a lively cultural atmosphere during the session.
