Bengaluru, Aug 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the youth of Karnataka, especially those from Bengaluru, for their significant contributions in providing advanced technology to the Indian Armed Forces. This innovation played a crucial role in subduing Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.

He spoke to attendees at the IIIT Auditorium in Electronics City, Bengaluru, following the laying of the foundation stone for the Metro Phase 3 project on Sunday.

Prime Minister Modi remarked, “This is my first visit to Bengaluru post-Operation Sindoor. The Indian Armed Forces executed Operation Sindoor by penetrating deep into Pakistani territory and dismantling terrorist camps.”

“This operation forced Pakistan, a long-time supporter of terrorism, to bow before India. The global community witnessed the strength of a New India,” he added.

Engaging with the audience, he asked, “Can you identify the key factor behind the triumph of Operation Sindoor?” He continued, “It’s our technology. This technological advancement was highlighted on a global stage, with the youth of Bengaluru and Karnataka playing a pivotal role. I commend all of you for this achievement.”

Discussing Bengaluru’s international reputation, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Bengaluru is recognized among the leading global cities. We need to compete globally and take the lead on the world platform. Our cities must be efficient and ensure swift progress.”

He pointed out that the newly launched Yellow Line Metro Service will link essential areas in Bengaluru, providing convenience for lakhs of commuters. “Once the Orange Line (Metro Phase 3) is operational, alongside the Yellow Line, 25 lakh commuters will travel daily. This will elevate Bengaluru’s transport infrastructure to new levels,” he expressed.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the contributions of the Infosys Foundation, Biocon, and other organizations in the development of Metro stations. “Their CSR initiatives are exemplary, and I thank the corporate sector for their support,” he said.

Reflecting on his bond with the state, he noted, “Every time I visit Karnataka, I feel as though I’m returning home. The culture, the warmth of the people, and the beauty of the Kannada language resonate deeply with me. Bengaluru epitomizes the emergence of New India. This city has positioned India prominently in the global IT landscape. The dedication and skill of its residents are the driving forces behind Bengaluru’s remarkable success.”

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of modern urban planning: “We must equip our cities for the 21st century. Bengaluru must be prepared for the future, and in our country's digital transformation, this city will play a vital role.”
