Ahmedabad, Nov 12 (NationPress) On November 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a significant national celebration commemorating the 150th birthday of Birsa Munda at Dediapada in the Narmada district of Gujarat.
At this grand event, the Prime Minister will unveil and lay the groundwork for various developmental initiatives valued at over Rs 8,400 crore, thereby enhancing the growth trajectory of the state.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi have meticulously reviewed the arrangements for this occasion during a cabinet meeting, as mentioned by state spokesperson Jitu Vaghani.
Vaghani also highlighted that the celebration will encompass special programs throughout the state, with participation from ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials to pay tribute to this tribal legend.
He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, there has been a renewed focus on national pride through significant commemorations such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, the centenary celebration of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and now the 150th anniversary of Birsa Munda.
The Prime Minister’s mantra of “Virāsat Bhī, Vikās Bhī” (Heritage and Development) has ensured that the once-overlooked tribal communities are now central to India's growth narrative.
Since 2021, November 15 has been celebrated as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’, honoring the contributions of tribal heroes to India’s freedom struggle.
Guided by Chief Minister Patel, Gujarat has been organizing a series of statewide programs leading up to this milestone from November 1 to 15. Two Janjatiya Gaurav Yatras originating from Ambaji and Umargam are currently traversing 14 tribal districts, garnering public participation of nearly 6 lakh individuals. This initiative includes 82 health camps, 51 Seva Setu camps, and cleanliness drives at over 2,500 locations, culminating at Ekta Nagar on November 13.
Furthermore, 20 non-tribal districts will host activities such as Seva Setu camps, health initiatives, cleanliness drives, and stage plays focused on the life of Birsa Munda from November 13 to 15. The national celebration at Dediapada will also showcase a special theatrical presentation on Birsa Munda’s life at Ekta Nagar, under the divine presence of Devmogra Mata, symbolizing unity, pride, and the spirit of tribal empowerment.
