PM Modi to inaugurate Bharat RE 2026 Summit on Nov 2, 130+ nations joining
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 (Bharat RE 2026) on 2 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) statement confirmed on 1 November. The four-day event, running from 2 to 5 November, will draw representatives from over 130 countries, including more than 40 ministers, making it one of the largest clean energy gatherings India has hosted.
Scale and Theme
Organised under the theme 'Invest. Innovate. Inspire.', Bharat RE 2026 will serve as a global platform for clean energy investment, industry engagement and technology partnerships. The summit will host plenary sessions, ministerial discussions, CEO roundtables and dedicated country and state sessions, alongside business-to-business, business-to-government and government-to-government engagements.
The accompanying expo will feature over 400 exhibitors showcasing advanced technologies, Indian manufacturing capabilities and clean energy solutions spanning solar and wind power, green hydrogen, energy storage and other emerging sectors.
Country Partners and State Participation
Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom will participate as country partners — a lineup that reflects growing Western interest in co-investing in India's clean energy buildout.
A total of 13 states and Union Territories — Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal — will present their renewable energy potential, investment pipelines and manufacturing capabilities to global delegates.
Three Converging Platforms
Bharat RE 2026 will run alongside two significant parallel events: the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). The ISA Assembly will advance international cooperation in solar energy, including financing and institutional capacity-building, while the ICGH will focus on green hydrogen technologies, investment mobilisation and industrial scale-up.
Together, the three platforms are designed to strengthen multilateral clean energy cooperation and accelerate deployment timelines — a strategic convergence that distinguishes this edition from earlier RE-INVEST summits.
Building on RE-INVEST Legacy
Bharat RE 2026 builds on India's flagship RE-INVEST renewable energy investment summit series, expanding its scope to cover the full clean energy spectrum — from solar and wind to storage and hydrogen. Notably, this edition broadens both the geographic reach and the sectoral depth of its predecessor events, reflecting India's ambition to position itself as a global clean energy manufacturing and investment hub.
With the summit set to open Monday morning, global attention will be on the investment commitments and partnership announcements that emerge from the ministerial and CEO-level sessions over the four days.
