MP Cabinet passes special resolution honouring PM Modi's 25 years in public life
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Monday, 12 October 2026, unanimously passed a special resolution marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public life, with the Council of Ministers conveying gratitude and best wishes on behalf of the state's more than 8.5 crore people. The resolution traces Modi's journey from Chief Minister of Gujarat to Prime Minister of India, wishing him a long life, good health, and continued success.
What the Resolution Says
Addressing reporters in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the resolution was passed to reaffirm the state's commitment to Modi's guiding mantra of 'We Will Do It', describing the past 25 years as a chapter defined by service, good governance, and a nation-first spirit. The resolution specifically cites welfare achievements such as free food grain distribution to over 80 crore citizens and flagship schemes including Jan Dhan, Mudra, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Swamitva, PM SVANidhi, and Ujjwala.
It also recalls structural reforms such as demonetisation, the introduction of GST, the Triple Talaq law, new criminal codes, the creation of NITI Aayog, the PM Gati Shakti framework, and Ease of Doing Business initiatives. On governance milestones, the resolution mentions the abolition of Article 370, the National Education Policy 2020, the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, and the completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Digital India and Technology Milestones
The resolution highlights that nearly 40 per cent of the world's digital transactions now occur in India through UPI. It also references the Semiconductor Mission, National Quantum Mission, and India AI Mission as pillars shaping the country's technology future, alongside a startup ecosystem that has crossed two lakh registered entities. Defence and space achievements — including surgical strikes, the Balakot airstrike, Operation Sindoor, and the Chandrayaan missions — are also cited.
Madhya Pradesh's Role Under the 'Double-Engine' Government
Chief Minister Yadav highlighted specific gains for Madhya Pradesh under what he termed the 'double-engine government'. These include major irrigation advances through the Ken-Betwa, Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal, and Tapi projects; the state being declared Naxal-free; metro rail projects worth ₹23,000 crore in Bhopal and Indore; and the renaming of Bhopal's railway station after Rani Kamalapati. Renewable energy now accounts for 30 per cent of the state's total installed capacity of over 30,000 MW.
Yadav added that the state has successfully established cheetah habitats and passed the Uniform Civil Code Bill. Over 65 lakh women have been empowered through self-help groups, and investment proposals exceeding ₹30.77 lakh crore were received at GIS-2025.
Commitments Announced for Youth and Jobs
Alongside the resolution, Chief Minister Yadav announced a series of forward-looking commitments for Madhya Pradesh: over two lakh new government jobs, one annual special examination of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, 12 new medical colleges, 12 skill universities, and the linking of one lakh youth with industry-oriented skills. AI and Advanced Computing Labs are to be established in colleges. He also cited the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026 and an 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' lamp-lighting programme in which citizens reportedly lit more than 3 crore 87 lakh lamps, including a claimed new world record of over 33 lakh 27 thousand lamps lit in Ujjain.
Notably, this is among the first state cabinet resolutions explicitly dedicated to a sitting Prime Minister's milestone in public life — a move that carries both symbolic and political significance ahead of the electoral cycle.
