Bhopal, March 10 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh established a Cabinet Committee on Tuesday to assess the potential repercussions on the state due to the ongoing developments in the Middle East. The three-member committee includes Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Singh Rajput, and MSME Minister Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap.
This committee will conduct regular meetings to evaluate challenges faced by Madhya Pradesh residents living in Central Asia.
Additionally, it will discuss strategies to ensure the availability of petroleum products, LPG, fertilizers, and other essential goods in the state, subsequently providing recommendations based on their findings.
According to a statement released on Tuesday evening, the committee will offer guidance to the state government regarding initiatives or policy measures to be enacted, aligning with directives from the Central government.
In addition to the Cabinet Ministers, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department will act as the Member Secretary. Officers in charge of the Finance, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Farmer Welfare, and Agriculture Development Departments, along with other relevant departments, will be permanent invitee members.
Earlier that day, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav convened a meeting with Cabinet Ministers and senior officials to address the situation resulting from the war in the Gulf region.
He emphasized the need to monitor the supply of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas closely.
The Chief Minister reassured that there is no current shortage of petroleum products in the state, with supplies operating as normal.
He further mentioned that the state government’s helpline has successfully contacted 255 individuals, and measures are being taken to secure their safe return.
Later, MSME Minister Chaitanya Kashyap confirmed that there is sufficient availability of petrol, diesel, and domestic gas in the state.
“The delivery of domestic gas cylinders is being consistently upheld, and consumers will not encounter any issues. In compliance with the Centre’s directives, the distribution of commercial gas cylinders has been halted in Madhya Pradesh since Monday,” Kashyap stated.
